Since my childhood I have had an affection for all things UK. I love the color red. I love an English accent. I’ve tried to imitate that accent my whole life with no success. Would you believe my son can execute it perfectly… I love formality, tailored suits, tweed sweaters, pocket squares, bookstores, Churchill, JK Rowling, P.L. Travers, Hugh Grant and lets be sure to mention Adele… this list could go on and on and on. This past summer, I decided to do something way outside my of comfort zone. I had the opportunity to travel to Amsterdam and while mulling that all over, I decided to explore England and Paris after my time in The Netherlands. Y’all I can barely find my way around downtown Houston so this was huge for me. I’m not sure if this was a midlife crisis or just a summer of clarity for me. I felt this confidence that I could live out this dream of mine. I managed to fly into the right cities and then take a few trains and buses and then walk a couple miles to my accommodations. I met new friends and was so thankful to meet an old friend in London who gave me the Royal treatment! I’m so grateful that I didn’t play small and that I didn’t back out. I had a wonderful time and came back with a self assurance I never had before. My mom gave me the best advice… Travel while your young. I can’t wait to go back and next time take my kiddos. I want them to see what they read about in history and experience culture and life outside of what they know. I leave you with this… believe in yourself. Live your dream and do it while your young. If you want something, make it happen. You’ll be glad you did. I shot exclusively fuji film and Richard Photo Lab processed. I’m thrilled!
